Membership | Become A Member
ACEC Colorado offers two types of membership to cater to different entities within the engineering industry. The first is Sustaining Membership, which is designed for businesses or organizations that supply products or professional services utilized by consulting engineering firms. This membership allows them to engage with and support the consulting engineering community in Colorado. On the other hand, Consulting Engineering Firm Membership is specifically tailored for consulting engineering firms. To qualify, a firm must have at least one principal who is a resident of Colorado and holds an active Colorado license as a Professional Engineer or Professional Land Surveyor. This membership category provides consulting engineering firms with opportunities for collaboration, networking, and representation within the state. By offering these distinct membership options, ACEC Colorado aims to meet the diverse needs of professionals and businesses involved in the engineering field.
Consulting Engineering Firm Membership
Eligibility
Any Colorado consulting engineering firm office with at least one principal who is a resident of Colorado and has an active Colorado license as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) is eligible for a Firm Membership. Click here to learn why more than 260 consulting engineering firms in Colorado (5,000 across the country) are members.
Dues Calculation
Your Firm Membership dues includes ACEC Colorado and ACEC National dues and are determined based on the average number of full-time equivalent (FTE) employees reported to the Council as the total number of regular (non-overtime) hours for which all employees (salaried or hourly engineering and non-engineering in the U.S. and abroad) are paid by your firm on an annual basis divided by 2,080 (i.e., 40 hours multiplied by 52 weeks). Please note this number is based on all employees for your firm, not only engineers. These numbers are reported upon your initial application and may be updated for recalculation each July when the new annual dues cycle begins. (NOTE: Membership in ACEC National is required with each Firm Membership.) Call 303.832.2200 for a complimentary estimate of your dues based on your employee count.
Application Process
Download, complete and return the appropriate membership application to the ACEC Colorado office (email@acec-co.org). The staff will present your application at the next monthly meeting of the ACEC Colorado Membership Committee, which makes recommendations for approval to the ACEC Colorado Board of Directors. Once the board has approved your application, your firm’s information will be entered into Council’s database and membership will be activated on th first day of the next month at which time you will receive your first invoice via email. (Note: membership started in the middle of a dues cycle will be prorated). Dues statements are sent via email to your firm’s primary contact (or a designated dues contact) on a quarterly basis or annually, based on your firm’s preference. If your firm holds members only in Colorado, you will remit one payment for both state and national dues to ACEC Colorado.
