Colorado Students of Color in Technology (SOCIT) Chapter of National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) STEM-focused Workshop

Again this year, ACEC Colorado Foundation is partnering with the Colorado SOCIT Chapter of NSBE for a workshop tailored to 3rd- to 12th-grade students celebrating Black History Month and the significant contributions on society made by Black engineers. An expected 25 students will learn about the impact engineering in the built environment has on their everyday lives. ACEC Colorado Foundation is seeking volunteers from consulting engineering firms to share more about what they do in their jobs and what they like about them. The program also will include a hands-on activity and complimentary lunch. NOTE: the workshop address will be sent directly to volunteers.

You are invited to represent the building, design and construction community of Colorado to state legislators during a breakfast and networking event. Legislators will be attending the reception. Please be sure to identify your home address’s state senator and representative during the complimentary online registration. – View the Senate or House floor activity from the Gallery (generally these chambers convene at 10 a.m.)
– Attend a Senate or House Committee Hearing. These may meet upon adjournment of their respective chambers, at a time set in the chamber calendar, or as scheduled by the committee chair. Click here to access the official calendars.
– Free, one-hour guided tours of the Capitol are available on the hour between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. from the Visitor Information Desk. Click here to learn more. Colorado High School Bridge Building Competition

ACEC Colorado Foundation is a co-sponsor of the competition with National Society of Professional Engineers–Colorado and Bureau of Reclamation. The Foundation will present a check for $500 to the Region 2 winner with the option for the recipient to receive an additional $1,500 contingent upon future enrollment at a university-level, Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology program.
