ACEC Colorado’s Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) program annually recognizes consulting engineering firms for projects that demonstrate an exceptional degree of innovation, complexity, achievement, and value. For more than 65 years, Colorado firms have entered their most innovative projects and studies into this competition. ACEC Colorado’s entry guidelines generally follow those established for the ACEC National EEA competition, which Colorado Grand Conceptor and Excellence Award recipients may advance to.
About Last Year’s Competition
In 2025, ACEC Colorado launched the People’s Choice Award—a category in which the public decides the winner! Unlike the traditional awards, which are evaluated by a panel of judges, this award is all about popular vote. It’s your chance to get involved, spread the word, and rally support. The entry with the most verified votes will take home the honor of being the crowd favorite. Special Offer for EEA Project Entrants: As an ACEC Colorado Corporate Diamond Sponsor, Ken’s Print+Graphics is offering a 25 percent discount to any current or past EEA participants for production of project gallery displays boards, like the ones in ACEC Colorado’s new meeting room (see phot)

- Sept. 1, 2023 – Sept. 15, 2025: Substantial construction/completion of project work to be entered (Colorado Official Rules)
- Aug. 8, 2025: Deadline to submit entry form and payment
- Aug. 15, 2025: Deadline to upload entry materials to online submission portal
- September 2025: Video interviews of project manager(s)/principal(s)
- September 2025: Judging (NOTE: judges to do not view videos as part of review)
- September 2025: Voting for People’s Choice Awards (conducted via social media)
- Oct. 10, 2025: Voting closes for People’s Choice Awards
- Nov. 14, 2025: ACEC Colorado EEA Awards Luncheon and announcement of winners at Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center
- Jan. 7, 2026: ACEC National Submission Deadline (For Colorado Grand Conceptor & Excellence Award Winners)
- May 5, 2026: ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards Gala, Washington, DC
