ACEC Colorado annually recognizes the exemplary accomplishments of its members, as well as other individuals whose work furthers the mission of ACEC Colorado. These are the most recent Honor Award recipients:
Orley O. Phillips Award – Nominated Each February by Past Presidents’ Council
Elizabeth Stolfus, PE, FACEC | 2024
This award is presented annually to an ACEC Colorado member who is nominated by the Past Presidents’ Council. The individual nominated is someone who has made a significant contribution to the profession, ACEC Colorado and its programs. The award is presented each spring at the ACEC Annual Conference’s Annual Meeting & Honor Awards Luncheon.
Young Professional of the Year – Nomination Form (Nominations Open January-March)
Alexis Feitel, PE and Bailey Leppek, PE (2024)
This award annually recognizes the outstanding talents, skills and abilities of Colorado-licensed Professional Engineers or Professional Land Surveyors who will be 35 or younger by Dec. 31 (of award presentation year) and currently work at an ACEC Colorado member firm. The award’s purpose is to promote the accomplishments of consulting engineers by highlighting their contributions and the resulting impact on society. The campaign is designed to enhance and improve the image of consulting engineering by recognizing young, diverse, and talented engineers, thereby portraying engineering as an exciting profession open to everyone.The award is presented each spring at the ACEC Annual Conference’s Annual Meeting & Honor Awards Luncheon. General Palmer Award – Nomination Form (Nominations Open January-March)

This award is given semi-annually to an engineer (non-member of ACEC Colorado) who has contributed to the state of Colorado, received recognition in the community, made an advancement to the engineering community, and had an impact on future generations. When a qualified nominee is submitted for consideration and accepted by the ACEC Colorado Board of Directors, the award is presented in the spring at the ACEC Annual Conference’s Annual Meeting & Honor Awards Luncheon.
George Washington Award – Nomination Form (Nominations Open January-March)

This award is given semi-annually to an ACEC Colorado member for outstanding service to the community, the progress of Colorado and the advancement of the public image of consulting engineering as a profession. It is symbolized by U.S. President George Washington and presented to someone who has exhibited leadership and has impacted public policy and general societal issues. When a qualified nominee is submitted for consideration and accepted by the ACEC Colorado Board of Directors, the award is presented in the spring at the ACEC Annual Conference’s Annual Meeting & Honor Awards Luncheon.
ACEC Colorado Foundation Community Service Award – Nomination Form (Nominations Open January-March)
This award recognizes an individual who is a principal or manager of an ACEC Colorado Member Firm and who has made outstanding contributions to the quality of life in their community. The award is presented in the spring at the ACEC Annual Conference’s Annual Meeting & Honor Awards Luncheon.
